2010 Yaris Liftback (LB) / Hatchback - Prewired for Trunk Actuator?
I have a base (no power) 2010 Yaris Liftback. I was thinking of adding a generic solenoid or buying a stock trunk actuator.
Actuator Assembly, Back Door Lock: 69150-52070 Mounting Bolts: 91511-B0614 (2 required) I was wondering if the 2010 Yaris was prewired for adding this feature? Last edited by bad_bwoy007; 08-17-2011 at 08:29 AM. |

I believe that it is. You can pop the rear hatch trim to be sure.

How does the current power trunk prop open?
Looking at this picture from Village Toyota Parts, I don't see any part that keeps the trunk propped open after the actuator unlocks it.
How do the Yaris' with power package work today? / Is there a Toyota part number for this spring loaded prop? Its been long enough without this upgrade, I'm ready to place my order!!! |

How about that open connector above in the pics I posted. Would that be the connector for the actuator?

That's for the lock actuator, which does the same thing as turning the key in the lock.

Ok cool. So to add the regular Toyota actuator you can connect it to the open connector under the trunk lid which only opens the lock as if you were using the key.
So you will still need to use the key to close the hatch. Where can I locate those two wires (gray and pink) under the dash? So it seems as a mod Yaris owners have two options. 1. Stock key opening actuator. 2. Aftermarket actuator that taps into the existing wires and is linked it into your aftermarket module. Where can I find some of those spring loaded bump stops? |

For popping the hatch you need another aftermarket one plus a "trunk popper". Do a google search to find places that sell those. (A1electirc.com sells actuators and may also carry poppers). The pink and grey wires come into the body ECU (where the under dash fuse panel is) via connector 4A pins 3 (gray) and 4 (pink).

Mounting Poppers
Thanks CTScott,
So I went ahead and ordered the poppers. One question I have is where would be a good place to mount these things. There are limited areas to put these. Any ideas? Another question I have about the stock actuator, does it open and close the trunk, or just open? (Just need to clarify) |

I think you'll need to do a bit of experimentation before drilling and mounting the poppers. I am not sure where the best location will be for them. The stock actuator locks and unlocks (you reverse polarity to the actuator to lock/unlock).
