Question for the audio guys..

If your car stereo only outputs 50w per channel (Kenwood DNX-7100 Built-in Power 50W × 4)

The speakers I got:

KAPPA693.7I (rear)
Power Handling, RMS 110 Watts
Power Handling, Peak 330 Watts

DLS UP6 (front)
Speaker type : 2-way system
Power handling capacity : 150 W RMS / 180 W max

Does that mean that I only need an amp that outputs max the highest RMS? to power the (KAPPA693.7I (rear) which have the RMS 110 watts or the DLS 150 watts)

the subwoofer that I was going to get is the Infinity BASSLINK II 250W
- do I need to get a Alpine PDX-4.100 or can I get something like ALPINE MRP-F450 V-POWER 400W 4/3/2?

your deck will never put out that 50 watts. that is max.. most RMS on a deck is in the 12-16 range. As for the speakers you intend to put in. you can run the deck, but they'll be very underpowered and will not be to the fullest of their intent. You can harm a speaker more by under power, then over power. If you get an amp, get an amp that isnt maxed out at the speakers RMS, b/c again, depending the amp, you wont ever see the numbers they provide. My personal rule of thumb is to get an amp that at 1/2 or 3/4 power, its RMS is what the speaker requires.

If i am not mistaken, the basslinks are self powered, meaning there is an amp inside. I might be wrong on that though. If its not, i'd look at an Alpine or a Memphis Audio 5 channel. 2 for the front, 2 for the rear and 1 for the basslink.

RMS is constant power and peak power is at one jolt it can put that out. Aftermarket can run off a cd player, but they dont want ya to think you can fully power a component system. Back in the day I never put amps on front stage stuff just ran them off the cd player and gave my bass more then they could handle.

Aftermarket decks are usually around 18w RMS and 50w peak. You can run those speakers off them, but they'll be underpowered.

Underpowering speakers is bad because you'll be tempted to turn the volume up loud. When the deck doesn't have enough power, the built-in amplifier will distort and "clip", which could damage the speakers.

Bottom line: You can power speakers off a deck as a interim thing, just don't expect lots of volume. If you hear any distortion, turn the volume down.
