Alternator voltage
Hello hope someone can help me out what should be the normal voltage for the alternator on the Yaris? Because mine is showing 13.70 to 13.60 under load I haven't tested with 2000 rpm yet and when I hooked up a tester it says that is charging within normal range but not strong on the 14 volt I got the tester at harbor freight tools if someone is interested in picking one up dirt cheap, mark my question is should I replace it now or wait till the light starts to flicker if it even does?
P.s i found a alternator at a wreck yard on a 08 yaris sedan with 8000 miles on it |

13.7, 13.8 is fine, if it puts to much voltage it will boil the water out of your battery. If it was mine I would use it until it quit, I had a olds I had to replace the alternator every two years about 25,000 miles, but I've had other cars that the alternator lasted over 200,000 miles.

I guess I have one of the good ones since is the original oem because I did my research and it appears there is an issue with the voltage regulator on the 07's with corrosion

Alternator
Having a spare alternator is not a bad idea.
