Liquid glass?
Anyone have any experiance using liquid glass on their Yaris? Have any pictures? Thinking of ordering some, its very expensive but I hear it does wonders.

It's not a wax, it's polish/sealant. I've used it for 23 years. I really like it.
I put 2 coats once every year and wax every 2 months. |

What prep work should be done before using it?

I used to use it. My cousin who owns a body shop always swore by it. Now, I personally like the Meguiar's products better. I think they perform just as well and are easier to work with.

Some will think this is excessive but this is what I do.
1. wash with strong mix of car wash detergent or dawn. 2. clay bar 3. wash with normal mix of car wash detergent 4. Polish/Seal - Liquid Glass 1st coat and cure 5. Polish/Seal - Liquid Glass 2nd coat and cure 6. Apply a good synthetic wax that does not stain trim. 7. Apply a good carnauba (Swissvax, Zymol carbon, Pinnacle, etc.) 8. Apply 2nd coat of carnauba. I guess that just a good wash will be enough prep for the Liquid Glass. I just like doing things a certain way. Whatever you choose to do, good luck. |

A lot of people say I'm crazy when they find out I waste a day, sometimes 2, just to detail my cars. Then they say I'm stupid when they see me detailing crevices, logos, seams, etc. with a old tooth brush and Q-tips.
I doubt anyone would be able to tell a difference between my detailing and their own, but I'll try to get some pics up in a couple of weeks. |

I'm with you evil -- there is no easy way out. I did my sedan for the second time this Saturday. It took 5 hours from start to finish. Then on Sunday I went back over it with q-tips and tooth picks for another hour or so. I guess I'm anal retentive, and am getting worse as I age. |

Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder. I still have yet to meet somebody as bad as myself when it comes to detailing cars and cleaning cars. I considered doing high end cars on the side privately but did not want the liability in the event that something happened.

Oh, I understand...
Going to do the wife's car this weekend, and it has a lot of crevices, seams and body parts. Don't think I'll use Meguairs wax this time - too much white chalk left over. How about TurtleWax Ice polish? Any recommendations? |

I have tried Meguiar's Gold Class. I did not like how short time it lasts. In around 3 months, it's all gone
