why does everyone complain about prices?

I have looked through a lot of the site and I noticed lots of people complain about the cost of after market parts for the Yaris. But I really don't get it the after market for the Yaris is really cheap. that one thing I love about this car is everything so so cheap. My last two cars it has been a little under $1000 just for headers and closer to $2000 for coilovers. If you wanted to do forced induction, ha, you better take out a second mortgage. I know this probably isn't the best thread for a noob to be starting but man you all have it easy. On the other hand this is probably one of the nicest forums I've ever been on everyone is very helpful.

You have to consider the car you're dealing with. Its one of the cheapest cars on the road. We're a bunch of frugal bastards, so naturally you'll see more of that on a forum like this than, say, a forum for a $60,000 sports car.

A lot of people probably compare Yaris parts prices to prices for Honda stuff. Aftermarket prices for Civic parts is ridiculously cheap.. Thats supply and demand for you.

No doubt! Here's my comparison.

Miata lightweight flywheel: $500+
Yaris lightweight crank pulley: $100

Miata coilvoers: $1300 (and "coilovers" are stock part, no cheap alternative)
Yaris coilovers: $900

Miata turbo: $5000
Yaris $3000

Miata supercharger: $2500
Yaris: N/A (bah humbug!)

Surprisingly, slotted rotors, performance calipers, braided steel brake lines are about the same for both!

BUT here's where I plan to save some money: they both take the same wheel! Same bolt pattern, same offset. Just got new wheels on the Miata and I'm SO looking forward to swapping.

I'm thinking about buying a Miata.. My Yaris, Del Sol, and the Miata would take the same wheel.. I'm a 4x100 man I guess. lol I'm going to go out once a week and rotate wheels to each vehicle. lol
