Smile rear anti sway bar = better mileage?

Put on the rear bar for better road holding - but as I'm driving I feel the bar is also helping my mileage. I can get around turns with less understeer scrubbing off speed- thereby needing less acceleration to get back up to speed on the next straight - thereby saving energy IMO.

What a nice little extra- maybe the bar will pay for itself during the life of the car!

This was the first extra I bought for the car. The car is real tight now on turns. Too bad it was'nt made standard.
I also added the TRD exhaust, another worthy addition.....

um..........................no.

if anything, it is allowing you to drive more aggresively=worse mileage. im not saying it is a bad addition. the yaris is decidedly a poor handler through turns with all the body roll, so im sure its worth it for that alone.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective. I came out of a Civic Sedan, prior to that a PT Cruiser, and the Yaris S Sedan I got handles far better than either one of those, even without the sway bar, which is my next purchase for the car.

maybe it does help a little, like conserving cars momentum through a turn instead of loosing speed to get the turn in. Lol a good excuse to have it on my mods list.

The logic is sound. I'd be surprised if you even saw one extra mpg from this, and unless you know what your doing with alignment and tires you're gonna pay out much more in tires than your saving in not having to accelerate. But that's pretty much on par for most hypermiling techniques :D

I should add that I'm 62 years old and that I wanted the antisway bar for increased stability, not faster speeds through turns. So I really do think it's saving gas because to feel the same level of confidence (stability) on a turn, I need to slow down less, thereby saving momentum and gas in needing to accelerate less to regain my speed. Sure if you use the bar to drive more aggressively it will end up causing you to use more gas but that it's me at 62 years old.

Lewis:

At 62 years of age should you still be driving?

Just messin' with ya. I turned 60 yesterday, and it blows my mind that I am really that old.

lol, no like lightweight pulley kit, aluminum flywheel, CAI/SRI, axle-back muffler, lighter wheels, torque dampener, tighter/lighter springs (for less hobby-horsing), weight reduction, Maybe even a Limited slip differential.

The lightweight NST pulley kit brought my MPGs from @ 30 to 35

your lighter wheels will have to wear stock-sized tires to help with fuel mileage. which means your yaris will now look silly as all hell.
