Yet another question ....

In my old car, I had a 7" monitor w/ my PS2 hooked up under the seat (this was right when PS3 came out, and it was too damn expensive IMO to throw under your seat lol) and was completely happy with being able to play video games/watch movies while on long trips.

Alas, I have discovered that this is illegal and no one will sell you an in-dash DVD receiver that will work while the car is parked. This is really lame becuase my husband and I are alllways going on long trips and it would be fantastic to be able to have something like that.

Does anyone happen to know of an in-dash system that plays DVDs AND will allow you to use it while in drive? Due to liability issues, Crutchfield and Best Buy both told me that couldn't tell me that information even if they had it.

Here is the DVD I was going to get, but now I don't want to becuase it isn't what I want.

You have to do some bypass thing. Search the forums, you'll find it in no time.

That's sweet. Now all I have to do is find someone who can wire that sucker up illegally. lol I really can't get into wiring stuff - so I will deal with the professional install for now and then I'm sure I can find one of my friends who will be willing to "fix" it for a 6 pack and some BBQ lol

They will all work - There is an input wire that the manual "requires" you to connect to the emergency brake switch. That wire just needs to be grounded for anytime use.

Most units will play if you ground the emergency brake cable lead with the ground for the head unit. Some may require a code to be entered. I have the unit in my Ford Edge grounded to the radio ground and it plays while the car is moving. Do a web search on the unit you are interested in. Someone always posts how to get around the e-brake switch. Some are easier than others.

Shows you how to do the next model up, but it is the exact same wiring. Guys says to do what everyone else here said, "loop the green parking brake cable to the black cable (ground)."

As long as the unit regonize the E-brake as "ON", it will work without any problems. Most installers will take care of thet for you. I have one myself and it works just fine!

quite interesting, so I'm trying to buy a in-dash Dvd player too, maybe from Eonon, or others. I'm so tired of long trip driving. No longer boring! Just amazed!
