Struts

I have 2011 Yaris with 80k miles. A shop I've always trusted did a courtesy inspection and said front struts are so bad that one side could drop to the ground. I took it to another shop to do a complete vehicle inspection and they said everything is fine. Car doesn't bounce, rides fine, but very occasionally makes a slight click when turning. First shop said that was not sway bar links, but the struts.

The only your car could "drop to the ground" is if the spring broke.

The click is probably your tie rods, ball joints or, anti sway links.

Likely not a big deal unless you feel a control change or the steering does something weird going over a bump or in a turn.

At 14 years old and 80,000 miles....your struts will need replaced very soon along with the sway bar links. Don't buy Moog sway bar links...they need lubed and there is almost no room to get a grease gun hose to the fittings. Buy sealed links.

When it comes to replacing the struts, I have found that it is nearly impossible to find coils for the rear. Because the rear is a independent coil/shock setup.

Rear coils at Toyotapartsdeal, PN 48231-52A51...$109 each. I have 252,000 miles on my Yaris and luckily never had to replace one of those. I have replaced the rear shocks and front struts twice.
