that is an interesting set, especially if you want to lower compression to run a higher boost turbo. But keep in mind, it does not come with any new, stronger piston rods, which would be a very welcome addition.

Yeah I saw this kit, but eTiMaGo is right that's kind of like half assing it If you don't get better connecting rods.

Exactly, What's the point of rebuilding an engine for performance use if you don't elimnate a weak point? Pointless IMO.

Also, As ZPI has stated in they are well on their way in developing connecting rods. I'm sure at a later date an "engine package" can be had through them. It's all down to patients. Just give the industry some time and I'm sure some things will be kickin hot.

A '99 engine is nothing like the 2007. It would offer nothing. If you have, say, 150,000 miles and want to rebuild it, you can get the ZPI 8.5:1 pistons and drop 16lbs of boost and have a runner... until that darn piston blows through the hood!!

you can get the main parts here: rods, pistons, rings.
Race Engineering

the pistons are available with different bore and compression sizes for all different applications.

i have bought from them in the past and i have nothing but good things to say.
