AFE Drop in filter - Leaking Past Seal
Hi Guys..
I dropped in the my AFE dry flow filter last spring, decided to pull it out yesterday to check it out, and I noticed on the top section of the filter there was some dirt that was on around the area where the top part of the air box that seals around the filter (past the lip just before the filter media). The air box appears to be fine, but I am concerned now on the sealing ability of the design. Anyone else that has the OEM drop in AFE filter notice any sealing issues?? Thanks guys! regards |

I know some people have had seal issues with even the OEM filter, but it's normally due to not putting the square corner where it goes. You can still force it closed with the filter in the wrong orientation, but it won't seal properly.

The OEM is one of the best filters ever made IMO and at $12 every 30,000 miles cheap enough to keep.
