They didn't come in Toyota boxes, so I am guessing that is a "replica" emblem on there.

They are all axle-back exhausts; there is no cat-back exhaust for our cars (because there is no flange where the cats are).

the only cat-back exhaust made that i know of for the yaris sedan is this
http://magnaflowplus.com/showitem.as...yl%20Cat-back& i would get that, but its to expensive imo that was referred to me by a mechanic when i went and got a quote last year for another exhaust system i dont know how good that one is, but i'd rather have the burnt tip one

you mean the flange on the Magnaflow system? That's what I want to know.
So you'd have to add a flange to your exhaust system?

from what I understood, you gotta chop off your stock tube and slip on the magnaflow one. Supposed to be a snug enough fit that welding is not necessary

yeah thats what the mechanic said supposedly, its a perfect fit for the sedan no welding necessary, its so that if the person ever wants to take that exhaust system out, all they gotta do is replace it with the stock one but thats all i know, he said that it came with everything needed for the system to work they just take off the stock exhaust, and replace it with that magnaflow one

there is a difference between "just take it off" and "chop it".
I believe you have to cut your stock exhaust system, which would require welding to put it back.

One NITTO sedan exhaust sold today -- two left
The HK1 is not Nitto, it's made by a shop in Thailand, so no specific brand name on it, besides the fake TRD badge. These supposedly have a very nice mellow tone.

Yeah, chopping it off? That's just weird. Since you'd have to weld the stock one back on, might as well weld on that catback instead of clamping it on.
Man, that HK1 would look nice paired with the TRD kits. |

Okay, I've been reading the other "How - to" install pdfs direct from Magnaflow... They seem to cut and then use flanges to tighten if they can't use the oem parts.
I used alll these pdfs to compare: http://www.magnaflow.com/07techtips/....asp?zone=SPCT This is for the matrix: http://images.magnaflow.com/07techtips/pdfs/15759.pdf This is for the corolla: http://images.magnaflow.com/07techtips/pdfs/15807.pdf The next time I have my car up, I 'll be more then happy to take decent photo for everyone.

for anyone's curiousity, here's how the nitto exhaust sounds:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...13183613240707 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXAyTLtkHOs that magnaflow exhaust for the sedan looks great, but I can't justify the price. Also, welding might not be required to install it, but if you ever want to part-out, and go back to the factory exhaust, you will have to weld it back on. |
