Perhaps you're allergic to bulls**t.
There is a ton of that filling up square miles there. Haha. Just kidding.
Probably the altitude and greenery?

DC/Northern VA is actually noted as one of the highest allergen locations in the country. We found that out when we were living there at the turn of the century (damn I love saying "turn of the century" and being around at one! lol).

In DC or AL? I've not been to DC because F that place. There's not much to do in AL other than play video games and think about being soemwhere where there are things to do.

My dad lives in Mobile Alabama. I didn't really like it out there.
I think the most fun I've had was when I lived two years in Anchorage Alaska.
Do you ever travel Mason?

Yeah, parts of Mobile are pretty bad. Did you go to Fairhope, Point Clear, or Magnolia Springs (all on the eastern side of Mobile Bay and farther east)?. Very pretty areas. My Yaris hit its 6th 'purchase birthday' while I was driving through Point Clear last October. That area was part of the inspiration for the story of Forrest Gump.

My godson, his siblings, and his parents moved to Manassas from the San Francisco bay Area. They lived there for four years (I visited them there during this time, and visited the area after they left). The people I encountered in nearby Springfield were among the rudest people I've ever encountered. My godson and the family were happy when his mom got a transfer to North Carolina (and they still live in NC)

I never get to visit any other parts because I'm usually travelling with family.
So we only go where my other family members are located.
Though I do hope sometime to take a "Travel the whole U.S.A" type of trip.
I drove from Alaska down to Florida once.
I don't remember too much of it though unfortunately.
I do remember that Canada is just chocked full of nothing (Where I drove through anyways).
That and even though Ohio is square you can drive in and out of it 3 times on the same highway.

On another note:
So much flaming over who sang the National Anthem at the game. If Hispanics and Caucasians didn't hate each other before, It's certainly getting pretty ugly now.

I've been all around the south and spent a week in NYC once. Other than that I don't really do a lot of traveling. I'm more of a homebody myself. I'd be happy if I could get hold of a few hundred acres. All I need is high speed internet, a place to romp around in my truck, and a few hundred yards of clear flat land to setup for a shooting range.

Looks like racism is still alive and well down there. Not so much up here; if we could only stop the import (illegal) of handguns, things would calm down a lot...

My first stop, when I drove across Canada in 2006, was Vancouver. I stayed in Surrey, just off King George Blvd. I remember driving around and seeing a police station that reminded me of a slightly less extreme version of what my girlfriend and I saw in a Catholic neighborhood in Belfast, Northern Ireland while on vacation. I asked my innkeeper about it. He said such an edifice was necessary for two reasons (he didn't emphasize one greater than the other, he just stated the two reasons) : 1. Illegal import of handguns 2. Illicit drug activity.
