Drifting?

i kinda want to see if my yaris can drift. i have no idea how to do this or what requirements are needed in a car to do so. I don't plan on using it for races or anything just want to learn how to drift. So any help on the topic would be appreciated. By the way, I have a sedan automatic.

You can't even power slide

Power slide is just like a drift, it means you are applying power to the wheels to start and control the slide. You need a rear wheel drive or AWD for that.
With a FWD car about all you can do is lock up the rear with the parking brake/ebrake to break the ass end loose and whip it around a bit but you can't really control a drift with FWD cars

HAHAH This has to be the most common sense question.. hate to laugh but just had to LOL . real drift cars are RWD, maybe AWD, but never a FWD... with a yaris good luck!

I do dream of making an ultimate crazy Yaris with a midship-mounted engine and rear wheel drive... maybe use the engine, transmission and suspension from an MR2... now that would be something amazing...

I would gut the rear of the car and go with the rear wheel drive but use a GSXR-1 or 1100 engine.
That would be fun ans sound sweet.
I've seen a few smarties with this set up.

Hmm yeah that could be done too, I used to be quite a nut about classic mini coopers (and still have a special place in my heart for them), and seen quite a few of those done up... But woudn't the yaris frame, even if stripped down, still weigh a substantial weight, that a motorcycle engine would struggle against?

Yeah but the GSXR engine can easily push 200hp

RWD and an extra 100HP over stock.
it's wont have much torque but the powerband will be awesome.

torque is what moves the car, horsepower is just a byproduct of torque and rpm

wait for it to snow.

drive car through a corner.

pull sideways stick right before apex of turn.

smile for the camera.

if done right, you can have fun with this, but ass dragging should never be called drifting.

hmmmm true... another very tempting possibility... but the drivetrain, suspension and pretty much everything else would need to be custom fabricated, that would be quite a challenge!

i have seen guys take the 1.3L DOHC engine from a Suzuki Swift GT and run that in the old Mini Coopers...

that engine with quad carbs or ITB's and it barks like a dog.
