DIY Cruise Control for 2012 Yaris - Good News!

hello ctscott, i would like to add cruise control to my u.s. spec, french made, 2014 yaris L, 1.5 engine, auto trans, that is my southwest snowbird car. i tried to pm you and also went to your f.b. page, both didnt go thru. can you advise how to order your kit? i will ask a local japanese specialty mechanic to do it for me. thanks!

I know that he has in the past. Is there a specific part of the install that isn't covered in the thread? I may be able to help with wiring diagrams if they aren't specifically covered.

It looks like you don't have the connections in the clock spring. The two airbag wires and the small (4-pin?) connector are the only ones I can see at the top. You would have to get a new clock spring with the right connectors to pass the CC wires through to the harness, and maybe have to run all of the other wires (to the ECU, etc).

I got a hold of him via PM and he's helping me with the CC. I've been pretty busy, but I have to look for a connector above the clutch pedal to ensure I need a clutch switch. I've been paying attention to the user: Dodge Aries K, and he bought a 2016 L and had the CC put in. One of his posts mentioned that he'd need a clutch switch, so I'm sure I will too. On another note, when my engine bites the big one, I'll definitely be interested in a 2ZR swap. It looks so enticing!

Yes, I needed the clutch switch. After that was installed it worked perfectly.

Thanks, that's what I seemed to gather from your experience. I can see the existing clutch switch to start the car, but where does the other switch go? it looks like there's a mounting location just on the other side of the existing switch, but I also can't locate the connector, unless they stuffed it way up under the dash. If that's the case, I may have to have one of my kids fish it out because there's no way I can contort myself.

The switch in question replaces the pedal up stop bolt. Look where the clutch pedal sits when you're not pressing it.
