now that my Yaris is paid off...

I find myself itching to get something else....

Starting to realize I sit too high and the car does not handle quite the way I want it to. Its fast...just not as compliant and composed as some other cars.

Changed jobs and that has me driving other peoples cars after repair and diagnosis and like tonight brought home a 2nd gen tC...wow this thing is really good.

But...no car payment is a beautiful thing especially now that i have a house payment.

My yaris is great. Just clicked 110k, doing my 15k Amsoil oil changes. I have it signed up for some racing in January and hope to make some changes this year. Clutch will need to be done probably by spring. Getting a little soft. Also considering putting the stock front sway bar back on...the UR unit i think is causing my traction issues. I can easily unload the inside tire...which is not fast.

Destroying your Yaris by racing it will ensure you get your desire for a new car much sooner.

Racing your daily driver is not the best course of action IMO. Consider buying a used Yaris for that purpose.
Speed costs money.

On the other hand....

Everyone gets to do what they want so if the OP wants to race their Yaris...that's a good thing!

I paid mine off 6 months ago and it has only 40,000 miles on it. And I'm already wanting a new car. I'm tired of shifting gears and I'm thinking of a Nissan Versa Note. But I haven't driven one yet to see how they are, I love the looks of it - and it's affordable.

I paid my Yaris off awhile back, as well. I want another car payment like I want a hole in the head. As such, I'm definitely not pining for another car. I personally don't carry on a love affair with my vehicle. For me, it's a simple A to B tool that I use to travel linear distances that need traveled in my daily life. Nothing more. I love the fact that my Yaris is reliable and fuel efficient. Other than that, who cares. A car payment means less money I'm able to save or spend on things that are really important. I'm keeping my Yaris until it's old and/or decrepit.

Yeah i paid my Yaris off too. But it's looking and running it's age 2007 it was a hoot to drive brand new but as you know aging car won't run as they were. I will definitely look to get a new ride in the future just don't know what. Maybe a Subaru legacy or Nissan X trail turbo diesel.

I hate the big payment I have each month for my 12 Highlander. Thankfully the Yaris was paid off (for the 2nd time) in July. I want to trade the lander in next summer, but not sure what I will do because I loathe car payments and also the insurance bill they impose.

Thats the part I hate. Car payment AND full coverage insurance. The cars I am looking at are not cheap enough for me to buy outright.

Ive always had a thing for Tiburons. Especially the first ones 97-98 and 05-06. Think I will try to hold out until next year to get one...tho I have a feeling Ill get another Malibu soon anyways as I have a problem...lol

Kinda want something mid range and "sporty"

Yeah, everything that I am looking at is between 35-45k so no direct purchase there!

My current Malibus...twins. copper is my 5th and is an 82 was a 229v6/th350c/2.41 car, now has a 267v8/200r4/3.73posi and I am smack dab in the middle of a turbo build on it. Nothing insane...more of to i have no turbo car anymore, lets see what happens. Grey is my 6th one...just got that one a couple months ago from Ohio. Nicest one Ive owned. Its an 83 229/th350c/2.41 car. Eventually will get fuel injection and some minor tidbits.
