Talking TheInteriorAutoMechanic's 2007 Yaris Hatchback Project Slow Kart Video Build

Hi all,

I'm new on the forum however I've lurked around one here for quite sometime before joining. I wanted to share my video series for anyone that may want to follow along.

The goal with this build is to have something that makes decent power, fun to drive on and off the track, reliable, and can take a beating. The 1nz is pretty much one of the only motors I'm aware of that can take a TON of abuse and just keep on going.

So far I have:
Removed, Ported, and reinstalled the intake manifold
Installed a Tooter intake runner spacer
Installed a 2az-fe throttle body
Installed an AEM cold air intake
Modified the fog light cover to act as an intake duct.
Installed 1zz fuel injectors
Installed Fumoto Oil Drain Valve
Installed Reflashed FTG tuning ECU

Videos to come include:
Installing a 2009 Yaris hatchback speedo with tach and making sure the correct mileage transfer over
Installing a weapon R header (unless I can get a hold of a DC Sports Header) and full exhaust.
Installing Megan Racing coilovers
Installing some TRD parts
Doing an OEM big brake kit upgrade.
And quite a bit more.

If you are interested in checking out what I've done here is the link directly to my YouTube video playlist.

If you want to follow along with the build I would certainly appreciate if you hit the subscribe button.

Thanks in advance I'm looking forward to being an active member of Yarisworld!

imo the big brake kit is un-needed...braided lines some sloted vented rotors and some good pads and even with a 195 you can still lock up the fronts..big brakes means more weight where you want it least

quality fluid and braided lines makes a big differance alone..toss on some good pads n rotors and the oe size is plenty even slowing from tripple digits or crazy down hill....the bigger issue is brake fade which can be adjusted with pads alone one you go vented sloted

I appreciate you input I will keep that in mind. However, I've already purchased everything to do the big brake kit so I will most likely go through with it. Worst case scenario I can always change back over.

Its not really a big job actually, I had mine done inside a couple hours. The change in brake feel alone is worth it, you have a more linear braking feel instead of an "all or nothing" feel with the shoes.

i got that just from doing braided lines with stock size drilled n slotted rotors up front...still rockin the drums out back...every now n then brakeing thru a 20mph corner doing 40+ you can feel the rear not braking quite enough but ive locked a front wheel once or twice in hard odd camber downhill corners so ive got more brake than i can even use at times LOL
