New member here in Hawaii. This Yaris was an emergency purchase since my '17 Subaru Forester crapped out on me. Somehow I ended up with a Canadian Yaris. The speedo and odo are in kilometers.

I had an '02 Echo before the Forester and it was a good car. It had 300,000 miles on it when I sold it and it was still looking and running great. This Yaris looks similar with the same engine so I hope it lasts as long as the Echo.

I bought the Forester new thinking all Japanese cars are the same except for maybe Nissan. Boy was I wrong. The Subaru was a POS compared to my previous Toyota, nothing but problems. The parts are weak. I just had the clutch changed last year due to a squealing throwout bearing but then the clutch fork cracked. So the transmission had to come out again. Now the shop tells me the transmission is "sticking" and can't fix it. I don't know what do with. I don't care if I never see it again and take a total loss on it.

Now I'm of the opinion that Toyota makes the best cars period.

I just found this thread, already posted in the 3rd-gen forum.

Bought a 2012 Yaris LE 5-door hatchback on Feb. 10. Automatic transmission. Red, 97K miles, excellent condition. First few days have been great, upgraded to LED headlights.

Still hard to believe it does not have a tachometer, though. Could not tell you the last car I had with no tech. It was not this century.

Learning a lot from these forums.

Just found this I have a 2012 Yaris LE 5 door hatch I named Misty that I bought from Hertz ( in great shape with 57k on it) Its got about 200K miles on it and has survived 3 accidents so far. Working on getting it painted ( when I can afford to) and updating the inside/ Upgrading the headlights etc. This is my first stop for questions and I finally joined.

New member here from Indonesia. My Yaris might be the most different model here, are there any Asian market Yaris owners here?

I was looking around in the forced induction section as I plan to turbo my 2NR-FE Yaris, but found no luck. But I decided to create an account to just say hello I guess.
