Will this add-on amp. do anything for me?

My head unit's specs. say it has mosfet RMS 50Wx4 amplifier.

I received these speakers for free to replace my stock speakers:
Front:

Rear:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206DS65/Kicker-DS65.html

My friend is offering me his Alpine KTP-445 Power Pack:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-R91gAof...ower-Pack.html

He says it'll be better than powering the speakers directly from the head unit.

He can modify the KTP-445 to work with my head unit. I noticed though that the KTP-445's specs. shows it only does RMS 45Wx4.

Will it still be better than powering the speakers directly from the head unit?

Your head unit says 50w x 4 but that is peak power, probably not continuous. The Alpine would probably should better for sure. The head unit would probably run real hot trying to pump out that power too and shorten the life span. I say go with the alpine amp and run RCA cable from head unit to amp and enjoy!

The Alpine amp. is a plug and play unit made for Alpine HUs. It can be modified to work with other brands though. I guess I'll go with it.

Are the 6.75's and tweeters rated together at 6-60 watts or individually ? If individually, you're not gonna be hitting nowhere near the max rms (60 watts) with that amp.

^That being said, a standalone amplifier is MUCH better than a deck "amplifier".

Obviously.

I just don't want to go through the trouble of running all those RCA wires and then extending the stock speaker wires to the amp..

What shops do you know around LV?

I am closely acquainted with Jon Web and Troy McGregor at Performance Audio. I can tell you that they can work with you on a project like this if you wanted. I could probably pull a discounted rate versus a stranger walking in as well.

That add-on is saying 45 watts RMS, It'll sound better than the 20 watts RMS your deck is putting out. Here's a thought, Run the tweeter off your stereo and the 6.75 off the add-on, if possible, idk how that thing will be wired in.

^You could bridge the 4 down to a two channel. You'll probably have around double the power going to the mids in most cases. Watch the level on the tweeters. If you crank the stock deck too much you'll most liekly end up clipping the signal to the tweeters.

I don't know any shops in Vegas. I've always installed things myself. I did install a four channel Alpine PDX in my previous car and it was too much work for me.

I went ahead and installed the Z130BT last night and it sounds good to me w/o an amplifier (using my stock speakers still). Dunno how it'll sound with those Kicker speakers.

Well, if you feel the need, let me know. I'll pave the way for you at Performance Audio.

Take some time to visit Troy and Jon if you want to feel them out. Mention that John from Team Hybrids sent you their way.

It's gonna power the heck out your factory speakers since they're only like 10 watts RMS. That Pioneer deck is pretty damn good if you ask me, and if you ever want to put in an amp it's pushing 4 Volt preamps. Maybe you'll be surprised and the new speakers you install will sound awesome. Keep us posted.
