cat no cat?

fresh kill at the local pick n pull a 2dr 08 that had been played with

someone had clearly ripped out the cold air which by the holes in the bumper im going to guess was the TRD unit or some such "short ram" pipe(3 BIG holes beside the headlight)..even had a trd badge on the grill(snagged it)

some aftermarket header, down pipe cat back and axle back all in what looks to be 2.5.....i grabbed all of it...but looks like the can got ripped off the end, but its got a "test pipe" ala NO CAT...which begs the question, will a yaris run without throwing codes with no cat?...i know some cars will and some wont but this one was obviously being ran no cat....never mind the inspection and EPA BS..im more concerned about engine codes...we dont have inspection here..just a peek at the obd and we are on our way...every 2 years

it also had a brand new TB that looks a lil bigger..1zz?..pics to come
new vvt soilinoid
new coil packs
new injectors
new o2 plus another new o2 still boxed under the seat
new 1 inch spacers on all 4 corners, new vented sloted discs(didnt need didnt grab..may go back)
aftermarket springs....didnt feel the need with it being on stock struts
after market shifter
steering wheel adaptor
and some other trinkets...

i grabbed most everything for a total of 70$..to which i know the TB is worth more than that..never mind the complete exhaust, coils, injectors, spacers, shifter, o2's, steering, vvt

debating if i should go back for the new rotors and the rear wing..its the same unit i have..and i guess spare rotors are always worth having on the shelf..was really hoping for suspension bits...but it was stock down there

ive had a handfull of cars that passed emissions testing WITHOUT cats with only "test pipes" so i cant help but wonder if the yaris is in that same boat

the header has no "brand" on it and could be any ole generic pos, i only grabbed it cause well it "might" be an improvement..the rest of the exhaust will deffinatly be an improvement...just gotta figure out what to put on it for a muffler...gotta rummage thru my spares n see what ive got that might be acceptable...that wasnt made for a v8 lol

i believe to get no codes for no cat, you need a 90 degree o2 bung, i tried a straight one before it didnt work

Are both cats gone or just the second one after the downstream O2 sensor? Also, no resonator?

its just pipe from header all the way to where the muffler should be...looks like it might be stainless..hard to tell

i found a stainless stright thru can and tip in my stash but i suspect a straight thru with straight pipe is going to be obnoxiously loud lol
