If It helps, I have this:

It should work, in theory....

The front just looks rotated a bit. I couldn't find two of the exact same angle...

But, the fog lights and bottom vent seem to line up quite well. I hope it can be swapped.

I doubt it... Look at the lines of the bumper, the 09 had a bit of an angle (follow the curve of the headlights forward and down), which the 08 doesn't.

Unfortunately we can look at pictures all day, until someone actually sticks an 09 lip to a 06-08 bumper, we'll never know for sure.

09 headlights arent the same. the 09s have a slight kink that goes toward the center at the bottom of the headlight.

You would need the entire front bumper and headlights from and 09 to do it as the 09 S lip would definitly not fit onto the 08's bumper. We had an 08 and my 09 side by side yesterday and verified that every bit of sheetmetal is identical, but the front bumper, rear bumper, headlights and tail lights are all different. To use an 09 bumper would require use of the 09 headlights as well. We measured all of the front bumper mounting points and they are identical, so the swap is definitely doable...

I want the 09 rear bumper and taillights on my 08..... really bad. I love how the taillights swoop in. And I think the 09 rear bumper matches the 08 front bumper really well (minus the indented styling cues on the 09 rear bumper, but you could bondo those up, and never know they were there).

Maybe I'm just dumb, but why would changing the headlights have anything to do with the bottom lip?

It's one of those "the hip bone is connected to the thigh bone" things - The new lip requires the new bumper, which requires the new headlights.
