I can fit bikes in my echo no issues by removing the wheels via quick-release ... so im 99% sure te Yaris would have no issues with the seats folded flat :)

Our LB easily holds our two Dahon folding bikes (two Boardwalk D7s or one D7 and one Boardwalk single speed). They have 20" wheels.
For those who want additional sophistication (more gears & less weight) there are all sorts of folders avaliable from a number of manufacturers, including Dahon. You drive a funny car, why not ride "funny" bikes? We originally got them to carry in our SUV while pulling out folding Aframe trailer. Works great with the Yaris, too. Funny car, funny bikes and funny trailer - we have it all. |

to the OP, yes a road bike fits in the trunk/backseat area (this is in a sedan). Remove the front wheel, and thread the bike rear wheel first into the trunk. Turn the bars up, and it'll just fit (as long as you don't have a really long wheelbase like a Surly LHT).
That being said, I'm not crazy about the amount of work it takes to finesse a bike into place, and I plan on getting a roof rack at some point soon. |

for a cyclocross race, i have a bike (maybe 2), 2 sets of wheels, gear, tools, food, water sprayer, girlfriend, etc... so there is no way to fit all that in the back. i ended up buying a Saris Bones. its pretty sweet, actually. very sturdy. i got the 3-bike model, and am going to use the extra space to carry my spare wheels on the rack as well, freeing up more valuable interior room.

I think you'll have to buy a second car to travel your bikes... hehe.
