SpeedHut Custom Guages
www.speedhut.com
Okay, so I'm sick and tired of not having a tachometer and none of the Canadian dealers want to send me a Canadian guage cluster. I finally broke down and bought a tachometer. I didn't want a craptastic Autometer guage tho. SpeedHut is where I turned to. They got a good rep with the Mazdaspeed MX-5 guys from when I had my MX-5, so I figured I'd give them a shot. Fully customizable in terms of glow or backlit, colors, font style, logos or custom text, bezel trim, everything. My final product came to a little over $200. Seeing as how huge Autometer guages with the obnoxiously large shift light are about $180, this isn't that bad. It also has a small built in shift light in the guage so you don't have a flashlight blasting you everytime you need to shift. Here's what mine looks like. Also, being only 1.8 inches deep, I can hopefully mount it on right behind the steering wheel and still be able to use my front glove box. I'll post of the actual product when it gets here.

that is awsome, customizable and reasonably cheap even compared to Defi.
Nice.

This is the Tachometer I am looking at now... Only $70
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VDO-3...spagenameZWD1V What is worth $200 on that one? Do you get a BJ every time you hit Redline? That would be worth the Extra Loot! Oh yeah... and by BJ I mean BLOW JOB! |

Ok. This might not be the exact same tach but it's very similar. I put a white LED in mine and it looks pretty good, day and night. Not too cheesy looking like a lot of these tachs. Like I said, I paid about $50 for the sunpro and it requires no adaptor. Apart from the size and sweeping LED array, looks like they are very similar. I wish mine had the opaque numbers and dashes but I really don't think they are worth the extra $120-$150. The "TRD" is a nice touch although the colors look a little too BMW/Mini Cooper for me.

You can choose either way. Backlit or Reverse-Glow. I got mine to where only the numbers and the TRD logo illuminate.
