Thule Top Tracks for 3 DR Yaris
Just curious if anyone has put these on their car and if so, what length did you install. I want to put kayak on top and think that a permanent rack would be better.

Yes, I have read that 42" screw down tracks can be purchased a number of places including Thule and Yakima. I saw one on a Yaris LB in a parking lot and waited for a while but the owner didn't return in time for me to pick their brain.

here are the feet for the roof rack....just need the bars... probably another 80-100$. does anyone know how these attach? are they bolted on or do they clamp onto the door frames somehow???? Im new to roof racks also... I have a kayak but cant transport it with foam because the yaris has fragile plastic bumpers.... not good for ropes pulling on them.....

This is a good question as I am also interested, but don't wanna screw up my paint or exterior mounting this to my car, will keep throwing bikes in car until I feel comfortable installing this onto car...

I use a bike rack that mounts on the hatch.... they are pretty easy but I scratched my hatch once and It makes me nervous to use it now, lol.
I presume the first bar can be installed witout any drilling but im unsure about the second bar.... which will either be towards the back of the door or drilled into the gutters.....

I just found this private message in my inbox from a while back.....
thule roof rack Hello, Here is a list of parts you need for a bike rack: Thule Aero Foot Pack 400 or 400xt Thule Fit Kit #2196 Thule 50" load Bars Thule 871xt or 871 38" Fairing and the appropriate bike mount attachment. If you need it for a Kayak, Cargo Basket, or Cargo Box you will also need the: Thule 477 Short roof adapter. I am building the Roof rack to accommodate a cargo basket. I found all the parts used on ebay and craiglist, brand new the set up cost $300-400+ for just the first three items on this list, I have spent less than $200 If you need help piecing one together, i can help you out. Ric

Alright!
Evidently some interest out there but nothing happened so I haven't checked the site in awhile. The red Yaris looks good with the carrier on it! So did someone install it for you or did you have the nerve to drill your own holes in the roof!?
