RABBIT SEAT IN YARIS!!!!
my back couldnt take it anymore so I went on a search to find a seat that would fit in the yars and I found one. I swapped a seat out of a rabbit the bolt holes almost line up I had to drill the rabbit seat holes out one size and the seat bolted in perfectly. the yaris seat hurt my back because its so hard and has no lumbar support and I'm pretty short so the lack of height adjustment made it hard for me to reach the pedals. the rabbit seat has power recline and really nice side bolsters and lumbar adjustment. If anyone is interested in this I can take pictures and give directions. I couldnt believe how much a nicer seat makes the car feel.

any 06 and up rabbit gti or jetta, not sure about passats though those seats are even nicer. I tried to find some plaid gti seats but they wernt cheap, I got the rabbit seat for $65 its so nice to sit a little lower in the car makes it feel alot more sporty.

What about the seat belt warning wiring? Does that hook right into the yaris' wiring harness??

yes power recline works, that was easy to wire up. The seat belt wiring is both 2 wire so I assume you can wire them up to the seat belt buckle on the rabbit seat but for now I plugged the old yaris buckle into the car and used my dogs seat belt buckle so it wouldnt trip the belt warning chime. I also used new grade 8.8 17mm bolts with washers to hold the seat in.

I want to tackle the passenger seat next weekend but I'm not so sure about the airbag sensor in the seat I might just swap it over from the yaris seat it is just a simple weight that turns the airbag on.

The Yaris seats use four sensors on the passenger seat for occupancy detection. The sensors are load cells that connect the upper part of the seat to the lower frame, thus allowing them to weigh the upper seat as well as whatever is on it. If you can transfer the load cells over, you will need to have someone with a Toyota TechStream Tool recalibrate the system for the difference in upper seat weight (unless the VW seats are close to the same weight).

Great upgrade! Does the lower seating position affect leg room? Can you hook up the airbags in theses seats?
