08' S Sedan Aftermarket audio install

Hello all, I have been on this forum for a few years but have honestly been broke (college) but now that I have a real job with real money, its time to upgrade the Yaris!

So here is what I am planning... all of the parts have arrived with the exception of the SW, which will be here next week. I had some free time so I decided to make a diagram... I will post some pics of the install as the work progresses...

Let me know if anyone has any tips or suggestions about the setup!

Jeezus man...

You're located in the heart of Arc Audio country. At least get Arc Audio amps and HAT Imagine components for the win though. Kicker and Fosgate haven't produced great sound for years.

Speaking off all this audio stuff, take a road trip to Redding on the 22nd of September. IASCA is having a West Coast regional sound off. You'll see at least one Yaris there with a bad ass system amongst a ton of other SQ vehicles.

I need to change my diagram. The shop's logo has changed, I've removed the small battery. I'm not using the ML3800 anymore (awesome sub though) and I need to change that to two ID8 woofers.

Yikes

I just researched some of the parts you mentioned and they are defenitly expensive... maybe someday I will opt for some higher-end components but for now I have to stick with what I have (about half of what I have is left-over from a previous car) besides, the primary purpose is to fulfill my addiction to bass :)

What type of wiring are you using ? Big 3 ? Aftermarket battery ?

If the answer is no to the Big 3 , and some decent wiring, you're going to make something go boom. And it won't be your subwoofer.

S7V7N:
The wiring that I have is non branded 2 AWG silver coated copper (scrap taken from my work... I'm an aircraft technician) with a custom made distribution box for splitting to the 2 amps. From the distro box wire is 4AWG.

I do have an aftermarket Optima D35 battery but I do not have an aftermarket alternator... which is also something I have been thinking about... any suggestions?

Take a picture of your wiring.

Look up Big 3 upgrade. If you have some extra wiring do that before you run the sub amp.

Jesse,

You don't nessessarily need an aftermarket alty. I'd up grade all your grounds as was suggested. I know when I did that I immediately noticed an improvement on MPG on my next fillup. I've also got some burly 0 gauge upgrades as well.

Installation

Thanks for the info and the picture Derick, I have been following your thread for a while and have just never posted anything...

I have taken the advice on the Big 3 upgrade with some 0 Gauge OFC wire and screw post terminals from "KnuKonceptz" on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00

Using the measurements that you provided helped so thanks for that!

I will post some pictures of the installation as I go so maybe it will help other noobs :-)

Ring terminal may be a bit too thick on the connection going to your Alternator screw. Wire kit looks kick a$$ though.

That may be able to fit on the alternator screw...

What I'm concerned with is the other connections. I've always aimed for a flat surface on one side of the terminal so that if/when you place the connection against a larger or flat surface you have a solid point of contact between the two, especially on the ground connections.

What I see with these cables is terminal connectors that are indeed flat BUT the barrels of the connectors are much bigger that the connecting point of the terminal itself...
