Any interest in a universal headrest camera mount?
I'm currently making myself an aluminum headrest camera mount and wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in one. I'm using 6061 square stock and having reliefs cut for the headrest posts. It will also have rubber strips in the reliefs so the posts won't get all scratched up from mount.
If interested, would you rather use thumb screw nuts or slotted cap screws that use a supplied allen key? Mine will have satin finish but I was thinking of offering them in a DA sanded finish or even possibly painted. I'll post pictures as soon as I get a set finished. |

I would recommend trying to do something that will fit on the back seats if that is at all possible in these cars.
If you get into an accident with a camera mount in the front driver seat or passenger seat you could be impailed with a rod of aluminum.... not fun |

Actually it is universal so you can mount it on the front seats or the rear seats.

What kind of aftermarket seats do most people use?
Couldn't they just mount the camera on the back seats? |

Finished the prototype and will have pictures tonight. I'm pretty happy with the results and it adds a little bling through the back glass.

Sorry for the late entry but here are the pics. Some things will change for the final product like the camera mount angle bracket will be painted with a rubber coating and the rubber clamping mounts will be upgraded to something stiffer. Also the wing nuts and all-thread will be swapped out with some socket head screws and the bent mounting plate will be replaced with aluminum angle.
