high pitch whine at 100km/h
I started getting this last night. When I get to, or very close to 100km/h there is a high pitch whine coming from the engine, or somewhere in the front end. As soon as I lay off the gas it stops, but starts again when I hit the gas. Has anyone else experienced this. Does anyone know what this could be?? I have just over 1000km's on the car if this helps.

Is it only at 100km/h, or does it start there and sustain above that speed?
Can you determine if it is from the engine, transmission or steering/suspension/wheels? Is it a mechanical whine, or an air movement whine?

It is not from the air movement, it is defitnetly mechanical. It is not ear shattering, but it is there. It sounds like it is coming from the front of the vehicle. I am assuming the engine because the second I lift my foot off of the gas it goes away, and comes back just as quick when I hit the gas again. Starts there and sustains it(from 100km/h).

do you have a power adapter plugged in? sometimes you get a whine in the speakers from the motor during high rpm.

yes, I'm thinking electrical interference causing the whine in the speakers, very common thing to happen...

Ion flux capacitors. They always kick in just before the thermal couplings engage, which reduces the quantum-level stress on your frame. Nothing to worry about!

Seriously though, could it be a belt slipping? Or does that only happen at low speed? |

lol most likely not a belt, usually only hear belts during start-up or during parking(but we dont have hydraulic steering anyways ).

When I was trying to destroy my engine by driving in third instead of drive (um, not on purpose *cringe*), it would get noisy at 100km/h. No high pitched whining, though. You're sure you're in the right gear?
