Any legal issues with changing to Vitz emblem CA?

Iv had my netz ones on for more than a month but i was reluctant to put on the vitz emblem. I live in CA, would it be a problem to have a different name on the car compared to on registration and whatnot? Also i got to purchase my college parking sticker soon, so i have to either put down Yaris or Vitz..

I think you're over thinking the issue, especially the college permit. I've never heard of anyone having problems with de-badging or changing emblems. Just do it.

That's stupid because most of CA Yaris owners debadge emblems. I think you can put Yukon emblem if you want. Plate really matters.

Emblems don't matter. That's why you have a license plate and VIN.

It's a Yaris, no matter what emblem you put on it, or if it is missing the emblem.

There is no law in CA that requires the make or model of car to be displayed.

thats what i wanted to here. i was just worried about that. the "sombrero" emblem had to go, cuz toyota is already written. I was just worried about cops not knowing what a vitz is if i got pulled over for speeding lets say, then i would have to explain and they would have to match VIN to license plates.

You may have to explain it someday, but they can't ticket you for that. Plus, if you run the plates, it will say Toyota.

I've gotten pulled over before ad was asked what kinda vehicle it was (keep in mind I left the emblem in the center and removed the toyota and yaris) I told him it was a yaris with dumb look and he asked wha the make was as if he was to stupid to glance and see the big ass T dead center of the hatch when he ran my plate. but I've had run ins with the @$$hole before tho.

Cops are often idiots when it comes to cars. I had an old POS bonneville that we spray painted honda on as a joke and when I got pulled over the cop actually asked me if it was a honda

Dont worry....SFSU cops are really stupid. If you get pulled over they will ticket you under the Vitz name. Like everyone said on here, emblems dont matter, just updated license plates and the usual DMV crap matter at most in California.

Btw, i wont be attending SFSU anymore, if you are.....would've been cool to park next to each other, Vitz buddies lol.

I've had a CHP officer write down "Toyota Vios" on my fix-it ticket. LOL, I should have went to court and said, "But I don't have a Toyota Vios, I have a Toyota Yaris." lol...one of my friends got their ticket drop because the officer wrote "Ford Explorer" instead of what he actually has, a Toyota 4-Runner. lol.

I don't know if they actually are the same size, but someone already swapped lexus emblems on their yaris a while back.
