Headlight electrical Issue
Hi, I have 2007 Yaris D4D with a driver side headlight problem.
The dipped beam failed the other day so I replaced the bulb. After doing this there was an issue with the high beam filament glowing, on the bulb I had replaced, and the dipped beam was very dim. Only low beam selected on. Also the other side bulbs main beam was on but brighter. Also the high beam dash indicator light was glowing with low beam selected. If I selected high beam the driver side bulb was still dim. If I disconnect the newly changed driver side bulb then the nearside headlight goes back to normal operation as well as the inside main beam indicator. If I remove the near side bulb then the driver side doesn’t come at all. I tried a different bulbs and swapped them to rule out a bulb issue. I have also stripped down the headlight connector to rule out any problem there. Could this be the driver side headlight earth causing the problem? If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. ####SOLVED####### After finding a wiring diagram I checked the headlight fuses and although the driver side headlight fuse looked OK i replaced it and this cured the problem.
