2015 Yaris Cruise Control

Hello!

New forum user here, I've got a 2015 Yaris 1.5L Automatic 4-door Hatchback, 1NZ-FE Engine model, and I've been browsing the forums reading up on installing cruise control. It sounds like with an automatic it's a straightforward process as long as cruise control is already a part of the ECM, which is what I'm not sure about with my particular model. Is there an easy way for me to test whether I'm going to need an aftermarket kit or can just slot in an OEM stalk?

As far as I know all 2012+ NCP131 Yaris' sold in North America are pre-wired for OEM cruise, all you need to do is get the stalk and little trim piece for your steering wheel that has the hole built in for the cruise stalk. Even your gauge cluster indicator lights will work.

Yes its all prewired, very easy to install. Mine with the 5 speed manual just needed the extra clutch switch that you wont need.

I just finished the install and test drive, that was so easy and works great now, I'm so mad I've spent six years with this car without cruise control!! It cost all of $15 for the stalk and an hour of time. A garage I talked to about it quoted me $750 for the install, what a scam of a price. This forum is fantastic!

Hi All, I am new to the Forum.
I have been reading about how to install cruise control on Yaris 3rd gen- 1.3 L GCC Version with 2nz-FE Engine

the problem is that the gauge cluster does not have a cruise light built in it and even the Clock spiral in the steering was not with the cruise switch port.
so I have installed the new clock spiral which supports steering controls and cruise as well, but now I am wondering what else to do to make the cruise work.

I have installed the cruise switch and plugged in the spiral, the spiral had some additional pins as supplied, and all fo them connected as well.

any help on the same model ??
would be much appreciated.

As far as I know from experimenting, if you do not have the cruise lights in your instrument cluster, cruise will not work. I found this out by trying out a Japan market cluster in my USDM car and the cruise wouldn't work. Maybe try swapping in a cluster with the cruise lights?

Seems like if no cruise lights, circuit is broken/incomplete and will not work. Very strange.

Hello dear members, I own the 2015 d4d Yaris European edition, ordered the cruise control stick, installed it by just inserting the 4-pin cable inside the driving wheel, but will not work.
Any chances to get it fixed?
