Kai’s Build Thread - 2016 SE

Hello folks, this will be my build thread for my 2016 5dr SE, Auto.

Just bought this car from my older brother, as I needed a car having just recently sold my 2020 Corolla SE to carmax, too good of a deal to walk away from. Anyways I actually didn’t plan on getting the Yaris, was actually looking to get an EP3 (02-05 Honda Civic Si) but my brother offered selling me the Yaris for a really good deal since he needs money asap to cover some attorney costs plus him rarely driving the thing due to him working from home.

I actually helped him find this car early last year on CL, was bought from the 2nd owner with about 54k miles on it. Fast forward to present time, i now bought it off my brother with just 58k miles on it. Basically a brand new car, kinda.

Here’s a pic of my previous car, the corolla

As far as plans for the Yaris, I’m going to have some fun with it for a short while. Goal is to keep it for about a year max. And then either revert it to stock and it become my fiancés car or flip it to fund an EP3.

I’ve already ordered the following parts:

-TRD Sway Bar
-Tein Advance Z Coilovers
-Tanabe/Revel Touring-S Catback Exhaust
-Konig Lockouts 16x7.5 +35 that will be on 205/45/16 tires
-Universal 3pc front Lip
-Toyota Vitz Front emblem (pt # 75301-52100)
-OMAC Roof Rack
-Harbor Frieght Cargo Tray

I will update this thread as the build comes along, I know it’s 2022 and build threads aren’t as common nowadays but it’s always nice to be able to refer back to an old forum thread post or even someone’s previous build thread as you can obtain so much useful info in regards to part numbers, what’ll fit and what won’t. So hopefully in the future maybe even this thread will become useful to someone especially being the Yaris aftermarket scene doesn’t seem to be popular at all Atleast here in the States.

I'm happy someone else is giving the gen 3 a go, its the best generation Yaris IMO. Lots of aftermarket and OEM+ goodies if you know where you're looking.

Wasn’t expecting this build to be just about done pretty quickly but got almost every part I had ordered installed this past weekend all but the front lip. I have to say looks like a complete different car I’m really loving how this thing came out from the wheel fitment to the sound of that Revel exhaust.

to be honest I like the early 3rd Gen's front better than my early 2nd Gen's front. But I like my car's taillights more, because of the JDM taillights. I wonder if the 3rd Gen's front fenders, hood, headlights and front bumper would mate with minor mods on a 2nd Gen??!
