xB Owner Eyeing Yaris Hatch . . .

I love my xB but really like the looks of the Yaris Hatch. I haven't seen one in 3-D yet but I plan to test drive one several times when they arrive here.

My question: Does the stock Yaris Hatch handle?

The stock xB pulls .80g without modifications. That's very, very good. I'm wondering if the Yaris comes close or is comparable? I installed a rear swaybar (add-on) to my xB which really improved tail wag and undesteer. I have a hunch the underbody is the same as the xA/xB and that my swaybar might install with no prob. Any ideas?

The xB/xA underpinnings were the same as the 1st Gen Yaris/Vitz/Echo Hatch, the new Yaris/Vitz is a new platform, so the swaybar will not fit...

The car handles fantastic, and much flatter with lowering springs installed...

Cheers

Thanks, echo.

If I fall for a Yaris, I hope somebody will soon have a rear add-on bar. I found my Progressive Tech bar did so much for the handling that I feel it's the only mod a sane, non teen-tuner would ever need.

My only prob with the US hatches will be no tach--not that it will be a great expense to do so.

.80g using what type of skidpad?

To me that is a rather bad figure, but I am use to seeing results on larger skidpads.

why? The .80g is the latest figure from the C&D comparo which the xB won. Maybe Toyota/Scion tweeked it before the test but it was supposed to be bone stock. I'm pretty impressed with its steady-state handling and have never activated the stability control even though I thought I was going to roll.

Along with the handling I hope the manual shifter works a lot better.

Ah, ok. With better tires and suspension that number can increase dramatically. For the type of vehicle it is it is a pretty good start, but the best of the best cars hit 1g on c&d's tests, and most mainstream sedans are getting near .90g.

more room equals more weight. Weight is the enemy of all vehicle dynamics.

Saw an xB parked outside of Richmond Hill Toyota yesterday, at the same time, there was another one driving right beside me with an Ontario license pate (AWXX XXX).

Just wondering are they started selling this car to Canada?

Since they have the same dimensions, offsets, and lug nut pattern, they should fit.

HEY!!, I'm a xB owner eyeing the Yaris too, you have some good questions there, this is the reason I'm thinking about switching, the handling, I want better.

Some dealers are importing them from the US and selling them here. The cost is crazy imo, but it's all what you like....

There's some importers asking anywhere from 19,000 CDN (16,200 US) to 27,000 CDN (23,150 US) before taxes for a bone stock xB...
