When did you experience your first mechanical failure? How serious was it?
Just curious... I'm at about 20k miles on my Yaris since January (it's been a low mileage year). I've usually had to have at least one minor issue taken care of by now, but other than a small vibration in the paneling behind my ear when the stereo is playing I have had no mechanical issues. How 'bout you?

I have an objection to the choices in the poll. There's no option for 350k miles!
My alternator started to charge intermittently, so I replaced it with an OEM one at 323,000 miles. But no mechanical problems so far and I'm at 358,000 miles.

Dead battery at 11,400 miles, 18 months. I wonder if all the pot holes in the back parking lot had any thing to do with the OE battery failure. The back parking lot was just paved last week. Hopefully my new battery will last longer. My second Yaris OE battery has 14,500 miles, 18 months and still working, but not exposed too long to the pot holes.

I've bought mine 3rd hand, but so far it's got 111k kms on it and nothing is wrong with it yet, and nothing has been replaced to the best of my knowledge. Will not vote as to not skew the poll.

This isn't really mechanical, but 1500 miles in some punks stole one hubcap off my only 3 month old yarii n then 2 days later the tire goes full out flat. firestone couldn't find a hole on the tire and neither could the dealer. dealer offered I could buy a new tire for $100, but they didn't want to help in any other way.

Well North East Ohio is well known for it's pot holes. It's the pot holes big enough to total your Yaris in that are the worst. But some county in Florida has NEO beat. Some old lady totaled 3 new cars in pot holes in less than a year. LOL

About 20K miles and no problems so far, except for the defective cargo light from day 1 that fixed itself this summer.
