November 2015 Yaris Sales: Down
November 2015 Yaris sales were down 45.1% compared to November 2014, with just 348 units sold.
Overall U.S. Toyota Yaris sales remain well above last year's sales, up 40.6% with a total of 16,402 units sold year to date. For a complete list of subcompact car sales, visit http://www.subcompactculture.com/201...car-sales.html. EDITED FOR SUCKY MATHS

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these numbers are horrendous. I see more Corolla S's on a drive to the corner store than dealerships are selling Yaris' every month. It makes me put more stock into the rumblings I've read here about the Yaris potentially going the way of the Echo in a few yrs. Am I off base?

Math is wrong or phrasing is wrong. If numbers are correct you mean essentially it took four dealerships to record one Yaris sale between them.

There were 348 Yaris models sold last month in the U.S. There are 1,500 dealers in the U.S. If you divide the number of dealers by the number of Yaris models sold, you would get the average sold by each dealer. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

There is no reason why the Yaris cannot sell like the Nissan Versa does here, especially since the Yaris is a better car, but Toyota simply doesn't care about the segment any more in the USA - except to give token lip service. It boggles my mind how many horrible latest-gen Corollas I see on the road every day, considering how cut-rate and cheap-looking they appear (at least to me). I can't even begin to list all the little details about that car that I hate. |

Math is still wrong.

As for the Corolla, I bought my father a 2015 Corolla L... and I think the car is outstanding in so many ways. If only it were a hatchback. Plus, with rebates and discounts it cost less than a new Yaris L. |

We went to look for a 2015 Yaris 2 weeks ago and the 2 nearest dealer only had 1 Yaris between them. Not a whole lot to look at or choose from.... Real shame.

2016 Yaris is still not on Toyota.com. Then again, neither is the '16 Prius, RAV4, or Sienna.

Simple explanation ... gasoline is US$1.82 per gallon and falling fast. SUVs looking better.

I must be one of the few people who drive subcompacts/compacts because I like the size/feel of the vehicles. I would never buy a big boat of an SUV, even if gas was free. They drive/feel horrible - at least to me.

Agreed. I love small Toyota hatchbacks... regardless of the price of gas.

Especially the new breed of SUVs that are station wagons the size of school buses. I had a 1990 Isuzu Trooper once, and that thing could go anywhere. Real 4x4 with lockable hubs, lots of glass to see what's going on around you, and the interior felt spacious.
