Well against the TRD I don't think so we have to see the Price that would be the major difference but 19mm and 23mm should be noticible slightly.
Garm is the 19mm still going to be available when 23mm comes in?? I'd like the 19mm for SD and 23mm for the HB

I just saw this and want to share with you guys about how sway bar work from wiki.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sway_bar The stiffness of an anti-roll bar is based on the fourth power of its radius, the stiffness of the material, the inverse of the length of the lever arms (i.e., the shorter the lever arm, the stiffer the bar), the geometry of the mounting points, and the rigidity of the bar's mounting points. The stiffer the bar, the more force required to move the left and right wheels relative to each other. This increases the amount of force required to make the body roll. I am not sure is the meaning of power of its radius means the thickness of the bar? If so, I should have went for thicker version 23mm.

It says the fourth power of it's radius because the formula takes into account the bar's polar moment of inertia (J=(pi*d^4)/32) I believe.

yes sir! since our vehicles aren't super light, the slight weight addition when going with a thicker bar is not much of an issue...so in this case, bigger is more beneficial. the only question is, do we really need it?

Well I stand corrected. Garm is ordering a 23 mm sway bar...1 mm larger than the TRD....If only I had known this three weeks ago....
sorry about the mis-information Garm, I honestly thought you were joking

Well it might not be a MicroImage only thing, I remember when researching UR, they made 2 variations of the Sway bar...not sure what diameters, but we can pray..lol
Either way, some is better than none, the TRD bar is sufficient, and the UR bar is pretty much the same deal, I just dont see the difference between the two being drastic enough. If you wrapped your car around a pole due to the rear coming around while going to fast around a corner, your not going to get out and wish you had gotten the Ultra Racing bar because you wouldnt have had a stiff rear end that caused the accident. In other words, the two serve the same function, have similar design, and similar diameter, which shouldnt change the performance of the two to a noticeable degree.

I'd say the safest threshhold for the thickness of swaybar for Yaris is 19mm. If you go anywhere beyond that, the axle may not be able to withstand the G, while the 19mm+ swaybar can. In other words, you need an additional support and this is where the lower tie bar comes in. If you are planning to rock 23mm swaybar and participate in events such as auto-x frequently, I strongly recommend you to invest in tie bar support. The worst possible result you may end up with from 23mm swaybar + no tie bar support setup may be, SNAP, BREAK, FLIP, and CRASH

if you didn't have that bar, and were able to exert that much force, something would break anyway. even with the 19mm bar, if it bends.
