For a new/hot/inexpensive car, 6 weeks is the norm. If you really want, just have it ordered. Then you can get what you want. Trust me, 6 weeks will go by FAST....

Toyota really made a mistake by not realizing how much Americans would want the liftback. I'm guessing its because of the lack of sales of the echo.
I don't know how many liftbacks honda will make but I bet alot of folks go in that direction because of the lack of available liftbacks to be bought. One more hickup in gas prices and they'll be a huge flood of backorders for anything like a liftback or good milage car. |

Wait the 6 weeks, get the car you want....
I ordered my Yaris June 15, 2005 and got it on the Canadian launch date October 17, 2005, and got it exactly the way I wanted it... As a bonus that gave me extra time to put away more downpayment... Cheers |

I had to wait 10 weeks for mine. Definitely worth the wait.

I waited 3 months for mine. It was hard to wait. But it was more than worth it. The liftbacks a great little car.
I found out like 6 months ago that the yaris liftback would be sold in the usa and thats actually when I had to start waiting. If you like the sedan you will probably have more luck. I'd definetly get the exact car you want. ONce you've got it its yours for as long as you can keep it going. |

I feel bad for your folks.
Here in Canada, I'm about 200 clicks north of TO, I had to wait all of less than a week to get mine... And if I hadn't picked a manual, I could have easily gotten it sooner... manuals have fewer produced. And waiting till Wed when I ordered it on the previous Thurs was KILLING ME! :( I couldnt wait 6-10 weeks! We also dont seem to have ANY issues getting the features we want, unlike some areas down in the US... be it power options, stick or auto, RS model, 3 or 5 door... (and of course the tach is just "standard" up here ) I wish yall the best of luck in getting the cars you truly want! Its a great feeling geting EXACTLY what you want! Jem |

Wow, I cant believe the wait for these things anywhere, even in the east (TO). My wife and I had been looking around for a new car for about a month, needed to trade in the lemon I had. We stumbled upon the Toyota dealership with the interest in purchasing an Echo, only to find out the Yaris on the lot actually replaced them. On that day they had about 10 or more of them, had for a while cause we drove by and kept looking at them. When we stopped in we originally looked at and drove a Black, 4dr optioned out RS but ended up with the Blazing blue mid level. I figured we could save a few thousand on parts that Im going to pull out anyway.
We have tons of them here in BC. |

I waited mine for about a week or two, that was all the way back in the beginning of the year. It's still puzzle me why 2006 Yaris didn't really last that long before they push out the 2007. (which in my understanding is the EXACT same thing)

That's ok, I never did understand why you can buy a 2007 vehical in 2006 to begin with.. they keep pushing it up.. I hear you can buy a 2008 Yaris in December 2006 next.
