LOTUS EVORA using camry engine...
heres a new line of for lotus..after elise and exige theres an evora..
Tidy shifting of its six-speed gearbox will see sixty miles per hour (96.6 km/h) achieved in a mere 4.9 seconds, where as its top speed is a very respectable (162 mph). Consider for a moment that this luxuriously appointed supercar has a relatively stock Toyota Camry 3.5L V6 stuck behind its rear firewall making only 276-horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and a shake of the head is in order. Yes, we’ve driven the Camry and while it’s a great car well deserving of its sales leadership in the midsize segment, it’s hardly a sport sedan. Like with all Lotus cars, however, the Evora not only offers up a stiff body structure and well-tuned suspension, but an extremely lightweight package with a very low-slung mass. The car weighs only 1,347 kilos (2,970 lbs), which puts it 68 kg (150 lbs) under the 1,415 kg (3,120 lb) 911 Coupe. Its lighter weight helps in braking too, allowing a 60 mph (96.6 km/h) to zero distance of just 33.6 meters (110.2 feet); in the same league as the 911. Lotus has yet to release pricing, but expect it to be more than the Elise and Exige models but most likely less than a similarly equipped 911. |
