Problem with electronic door lock
Hi guys it's me again, first of all, my battery is new.
I tried to find some information on my electronic problem, but nothing came. There is the problem: Since I bought my car, when I press on the remote control to unlock all the doors, it only unlocks the 2 doors on the passenger side and also the hatch. So, the 2 doors on the driver side doesn't unlock. That is the problem. Also, when I press on the inside button just in front of the handbrake to unlock or lock the doors, the only one that does nothing at all is the second door on the driver side... Help me ! I asked Toyota mecano but they need to do the hole verification patern. My mecano said that it would be a door relay problem. Thanks for the help. |

Not a relay problem, since only one relay is involved.
Someone else on here just had a similar problem, which turned out to be the console switch was sticking. Yours is a bit different in that some not all are not working. Try disconnecting the connector from the console switch and see if that makes any difference.

Alright so you mean I need to disconnect the interior lock/unlock switch ? And then try to unlock the doors with the remote ?

Yes. Or, disconnect that between the seats one and try lock/unlock from the doors. If that doesn't help, try disconnecting the switch from each door to see if the problem stays with one switch.

Well ! after a quick check at Toyota dealership, I needed new latches for both left doors. (500$ each...............) For the hole kit and installation, they said to me that it will cost 1234$, I was like ''Forget that lil bitch'' !
After some search I found exactly what I needed in my hometown for 25$ each ! What a buunch of fuckers... I will try to install them myself to save a good 150-200$ for the installation. Just need to know if it's hard to pull off the old latches ? Thanks ! |

After you remove the three screws on the door frame, you move the lock assembly down a bit and the lift up on the outer handle to remove it, then the lock assembly is free.

For the other part, is it supposed to make a sound (horn sound) when I lock the car with the remote ?
