Unhappy Sissy Paint

Hey, has anyone else noticed that the slightest bump of something on the paint makes a noticible scratch?
my ring slid up the side of my door for about an inch and the paint came right off!
I barely touched my key to my door and that took a bit of paint off!!!
I haven't got hit by any doors yet, but I really want some door bumpers... any word on where to get some?

btw, my paint is the metalic silver, if different paints have differing durability

My Silver Mica HB has been rock chipped several times in a matter of about nine to ten months. I have chosen to ignore those on the bumpers but have borrowed a silver touch up pen from a friend who worked for Nissan for the big chip on the door. The color did not match, but rusting has been prevented anyway.

Mine does the same, rock chips on the hood, scratches on the hatch, and the kid made a nice circle around the front passenger fender turn signal with his dump truck... awsome...
I may try and get the car painted next spring.

I have meteorite metallic too...only owned it for four months, and already have many scratches, dings, etc. More than I've had on cars I've owned for years...

The paint on my Nautica Blue Yaris Sedan seems to be ok. 5,000 miles and 3 months old. I am very picky about paint. I will keep you posted, but for now it appears to be very good.

The medium silver on our LB is doing well - the bumper has caught a couple of rocks and a piece of bouncing metal on the freeway, but the Toyota touch-up upaint has worked very well.

The Dark Gray (1E9) on our 2006 4Runner Sport is more touchy - scratches easy thus exposing the lighter undercoat - I am practicing how to cover those scratches with so they are not really noticeable.

It's been my experience that if the paint isn't great, it means that there is too much rust preventitive in the primer..usually zinc. Atleast the yaris won't rust!

I am used in waxing the car, so the damage is kind of minimized.
