I removed mine because it makes the car a mystery (for the parking meter maids, since I dealer temp plates and my vin is obscured... for some reason). Of course, I told Chino the other day that I didn't see that many Yarii out here, but of course I've seen like 10 a day since then.
I guess I didn't notice them all because they are all stock, and I am used to looking at the sweet-ass rides on here all day long!

Passin' The Gas...Station

Bare Ass 101, It was close to 100 today in Massachusetts, just south of Boston. The car had been baking away all day in the sun. I read this thread and thought...What the hell. The dealer's name, Toyota, and Yaris came off like they were held on with bubble gum. No dental floss, no fishing line, just my fingers and patience. Took a little Goof-Off on a rag and it took the residue off the paint. There wasn't even any tape on the car. Nice.
Now my Gateway Laptop shows it is a Toyota product and I have a Yaris model side-by-side refrigerator w/ice maker. The dealers name never made it into the house. It's probably stuck to someone's tire, It ended up in the street. Does the 'yota emblem stick the same way or is it pinned through the sheet metal? Would look good painted the same color as the car. Meteorite Metallic. Till next time, Chuck

HOLY SHIT! I see a ghost in the second one from the bottom! LOL! Nice wax job!
I'm thinking of debadging my S sedan of everything but the S. But it's kind of a point of no return thing. Now that I have seen another sedan it looks good.

Got rid of my "Stinking Badges" yesterday. Used 6 lb test line with no problems. Everything turned out perfect.

Took mine off over the weekend. Just parked the car facing the sun and slowly yanked the badges off. No line needed and no glue residue to remove.

That was easy. Took longer to find an extension cord for a hair dryer than it did to get those puppies off. Looks much nicer, I think.

Good guide but what I did worked equally well and was a bit easy.
1. Spray a tiny bit of WD40 behind the embles 2. Wait 5 mins 3. Peel off the emblems either by hand or with some dental floss. Sinc eI didn't have any dental floss I just ripped them off by hand right to left. 4. Clean off whatever adhesive is left with Goo Off automotive cleaner, which will be very minimal as WD40 worked to loosen it up. 5. Clean the paint. I used Mcguires paint cleaner. 6. Wax! (I skipped this part cuz I had no time and I just waxed my whole car 3 weeks ago so I'll wax over that part when I wax it again later :) Enojy the lack of emblems on your car! |
