71+ mph in the 1/4 is good for a 1300cc auto!
As far as faster, if the 1.216 is your reaction time, you could try anticipating the green light to reduce that time. Even if you could cut that time in half, 6 tenths of a second is a lot of time to cut off your quarter without needing your car to be any faster than it is right now. Removing any excess weight for your drag runs, like the spare tire and jack, would help. On a little light car, any removed weight will make it faster. You could also pump up your rear tires to 45 psi to lower their rolling resistance. Also run with all of your windows up and vents closed to lower the wind resistance. All these little refinements can really add up. Greg |

It was my first and only pass, do you know if 06 Yaris headers would fit in my Vitz?

I think it was a US spec EG with a B15B VTEC Engine (obviously there was something wrong with it)

We don't have a bolt-on header for the 2NZ-FE. We *think* the 1NZ header will fit the head, but I don't know about clearance or alignment with the exhaust.

As said before indeed remove everything that does not have to be in your car for it to run (I know people who take jerrycans and a fuel syphon with them to remove those extra kg's of fuel) and buy 2 sticky tires for the driven wheels whilst inflating the undriven wheels.
If you really want to go nuts on tires try and see if you can find the skinnyest rubber out there for the rear wheel..... But be carefull under breaking! All things you can do before working on your actual -car- And something to ponder about is that higher tire walls will give you higher top speed, but lower tire walls will convey a bit more torque to the asphalt :) Lower pressure in the driven tires will also stop wheel spin off the line to a point because the sidewall can work a bit more before the contact surface slips. And another thing, once you're on the line with your car all warmed up, turn the heater on -full-. It will suck out all the hot air from the engine bay. It's what we did back in the bmw E30 cup. Take out the rear seat. It's only 4 bolts and it takes 10 mins. You will feel a difference for sure.
