Starting problem
Starting problem
I have a 2006 1000 Aygo. The car can be cold or hot but just randomly won't start no matter what you do. Leave the car for 5-10min and starts 1st time with no hiccups what so ever. No puffs of smoke or Miss fire This is what an auto electrician found: We originally thought there was a problem with starter motor, immobiliser but he has ruled out these. There is a code saying the camshaft sensor has found a problem, he says this is why there are no puffs of smoke or spluttering as the camshaft sensor doesn't allow fuel injection system to work. The car has 84000 miles. He said that almost all the time the timing chain has to be replaced. We have already changed the crankcase sensor. Has any body else had similar problem ? Local garage quoting me £660 without parts for work. I know it's a big job but this sounds redicoulous. |

Just get a new cam sensor and replace it yourself then.
