door speakers

okay, i know this has probably been covered 1000 times, but w.e, lets do it again. lol. i'm on a tight budget but the sound quality needs to get fixed. its good low....but now with the weather getting warmer and windows opening the sound gets all funny.

my main thing is i dont want a sub in my trunk(well actually i dont want a box, i'd love a sub) but i dont jsut want boom either. i'd like to keep the stock deck and really only change the speakers....

will this accomplish anytihng? is there a way to test to see if speakers are better then others? i'm a nube when it comes to this.

thnaks alot

With a tight budget it's going to be hard to accomplish a good improvement. OEM speakers are very close to "junk" any thing would be better quality, sound wise a little maybe, the power from the OEM radio is not enough, once you lower your windows all the acoustics are gone. Depending on how tight your budget is I would swap the speakers at first, then I would consider some deadening in the front doors.

FYI I'm keeping the OEM deck too, but upgrading all audio system and deadening my car for a quiet ride. (It's funny we try to make our cars quiet on the road, but as soon we turn on the radio it gets noisy again, a good noise though).

Good luck

You're just looking to replace door speakers ? I'd refer to this thread here

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26945

The thread is fresh.

Even with an aftermarket deck it's hard to pair off a decent set of speakers, the fact that the factory deck doesn't put out very much Rms Wattage, You're going to be limited.

How about something like PowerBass components and a small PB 2 channel to power those comps?

Look at this diagram and look at the flow from the radio through MTX Re-Q5 it's connected to the OEM speakers wires, then you use RCA cables to plug into a small amp that feeds your front new speakers.

For a good component speaker to replace the front speakers in the door give this site a try

www.elementaldesigns.com

Their components are very good quality......lots of midbass is available through them, they are pretty bullitproof components.....I use them in my tC and will be installing in my Yaris as well since I have two sets.

No real need for rear speakers........but any set is better than the stocks.

For an amp.....your kinda on your own there......but I may be selling a 4 channel Elemental Designs amp that was used for about 4 hours, then the system was made bigger so used differant amp......it is loud though and very good quality......would let go fairly cheap, paid $250shipped,would take $120shipped for it.

Sound deadening is also a must to get good sound out of a system.....at least the doors and side panels and rear floor.....Elemental also sells that as well and it works great, unless you live in a climate that it is regularly over 100 degrees as it can come loose at those temps, for those climates I say dynomat or other high end deadening.

Changing the Stock speakers is one of the biggest improvements in sound you could do. I did mine a year after I got my yaris and It made a huge difference.
