does anyone here know why my HU plays the same few songs over when ever i press the random button? so far, i've only played MP3 cd's in my S. it get's frustrating when it goes to the same 4 or so songs when i press random. that's not really random...

ya i know it is pretty stupid. It isnt random, I have a feeling it picks several predetermined indexes on the cd, and just uses them for random. It would have been really easy just to have made a random program so I really don't know why they did it that way.

well have you tried a regular cd to see if it works, i bet its the way your burned those mp3's

the random works for each folder, not the whole disk for the MP3's, kinda weird, but I have just been puttin all my songs in one folder since I figured that out, and the random works fine now

the random button also lets you "play" the entire MP3 cd, and even then, it seems like it chooses only a few songs for its "random" list.

i used Sonic Record Now to burn the MP3 cd.

my friend also made me an MP3 cd with just a root folder. same thing still happens.
