i think most synthetic users here, including myself, use Mobil 1. i remember someone here saying that RP had some issues with the correct oil weights...

The Royal Purple does not fair as well as some others in testing. I think most use Mobil 1, but I am Amsoil user. Just make shore you get good quality filters and not your average junk.

i've used royal purple very much in the past... i would only use it on the yaris if its a high milage monthly commuter.
i don't consider mobil 1 as a synthetic its a group III oil... they mislead you and charge you more then a better oil... if u want true synthetic... get amsoil or redline... my car came with mobil 1 in the crankcase from the factory and thats as far as it will go |

This stuff is like $80 a gallon? Sweet Jesus! Even DIY I'd go broke running it in my car.

I use what the manual recommends. 5W-30 right? Its early and I can't think but I'm pretty sure thats the magic number. May switch to a lighter weight soon to see if those MPG gains are for real. 1500 more miles until 20,000.
Nigal, since the Yaris only takes 3.9 quarts of oil there should be no reason not to use the best oil possible. I picked up 4 quarts at Summit Racing for $26. That is less than I'd pay the stealership to put dino oil in my car. |

Yaris I havent upgraded anything yet but as for the 240 .. Royal in the motor, diff, and tranny. Actually have seen proven dyno results for HP gain (2001 Camaro +8hp). Also does well for fuel economy. 240 gained mpg.

On oils, I use Nenos. Sorry, I am JDM to the bone.
I think Nenos is better and RP, and I can save gas when using 0w20. Eneos's web sit. |
