1.8 TS and 1.5 yaris power&torque diagrams

i attach the diagrams of these 2 engine
i think for best performance is need to change the gear at 6000rpm.
for fuel economy i think the optimal change is at 3500rpm.
is correct?

run 'em to redline!

you want to stay in the power on the next gear....

but those piddly dynos are junk

in all seriousness....i find the 1nzfe noticeably runs out of steam past 6000 or so w/o mods. with just an intake i find it makes power to redline....

but for economy (and assuming youre not WOT) shift around 3000 or so

^^

Agree, for the fastest possible acceleration you need to take it to 6,400 rpm

Whatch out for the rev limiter at around 6,600rpm. If you hit it the car will jerk out and there goes your pass.

And if you are concern about the Max fuel efficiency, we have a hole section about it on the forum. Is full of usefull tips.

The FE is not just shifting at 3,500rpm.., buch of things to concider if you want to achive Toyota's advertized consumption figures.

Yeap.... it takes a 1/100 sec for you to hit the rev limiter

Red ine is at 6,400 and you hit the rev limiter just passing 6,500rpm

So it's just a 150 rpm window from red line to the limiter...

It will be nice if there was an easy way to increase the rev limiter... perhaps to 6,800rmp

With bolt ons we could really use that extra band legnth.

mmmm I'm the kind of person that only learns first hand...

Plus a broken rod will provide you with a nice story to tell your friends..

J/K

Yeap this engine would not take over reving for much time. But it should hold some extra 400 rpm over a couple of 1/4 mile passes.

We will have to find out....

The Vits RS in Japan does not come with the 2ZR engine. It still has the 1.5 1nz

I believe only the IST and some other less popular models have this engine over there and they are not a s much of a tuner car as the vitz.

The POwer Entreprises manuals don't list up anything for the 2ZR-FE engine

I will like to be proved wrong tough

Its a real shame we don't get the Vitz 1.8 here, we only get the Vitz RS 1.5L. We don't get the IST in Manual though.

Regarding the camcon, I don' think there is one yet for the 2ZR. Could be wrong though.
