March 2010 Yaris Sales: Down

Yaris sales were down 23.3% compared to March of 2009, and is down 16.1% year to date compared to '09. This, however, doesn't seem to have changed much from previous months, which might suggest the recall didn't effect Yaris sales much.

Top subcompact sellers year to date:

Nissan Versa: 31,334
Hyundai Accent: 15,288
Toyota Yaris: 12,513
Honda Fit: 10,292

cheapest = best selling
2nd cheapest = 2nd best selling
2nd most expensive = 2nd worst selling
most expensive = worst selling

I see.

It would be interesting to see which Versas are selling the best. Is it the $9,999 model or is it the upper end versions? Ditto with all of the models.

from what I've seen . The new and used YARIS in our region are selling . The '09 automatic 5 door we traded in for a 3 door 2010 with auto finally sold . The trade in value for the '08 base model automatic sedan has risen ( $9,686 ) by over $100 since last month ( $9,515 ) at this time at EDMUNDS at CLEAN . Gas prices may be helping that .

looked up value at K.B.B. with same features , mileage ( 18,330 mis. ) , and GOOD condition . The book value has dropped $125 . Was $9,125 on MARCH 4th with 18,000 miles . Thus an average of $9,393 between the 2 .

Toyota doesn't advertise the Yaris much. Even local dealers don't put them in the news paper.

In my region they had $1,750 cashback on Versa (excludes 1.6 versa). $750 cashback on all Yaris trims.

I noticed that and wonder why. It's a great little car. One Toyota dealer here runs ads all the time yet they seldom ever put it in their commercials, instead they push the Camry, Corolla, and Tundra. They have a few of the Yaris in inventory, but they never push them in their ads.
