This looks like a good thread to ask this, how much stiffer are the reds at full stiff compared to the blues? Is it really a significant difference?

^ yes, the reds go from OEM soft to racing stiff. The blues are in the middle of that range.

Will any difference be felt by combining blues with stock springs?
When my shocks/struts give out, I'd like to go with something like these....

Sure, upgraded shocks/struts will definitely make a difference!

Sorry for hijack but on other forums I am in (IS.net, Miata.net), Tokico blues have a pretty bad reputation (wear out fast, blow out, etc.). How good (last long, no problems, etc.?) are the blues on Yaris'? Tokico doesn't make Illuminas (which I plan to get for my Miata and IS300) for the Yaris and the reds are hella way more expensive than the blues...

@ yaristeve, I haven't heard one bad thing about Tokicos for the Yaris yet.

@ auxmike, not TRD ones are not made by Tokico.

I'll take a look on miata.net and is.net for failure threads.

I checked miata.net, and found two threads on there that discuss Tokico shocks. Some comments were favorable, especially for the Illuminas. The negative comments seemed to refer to some general knowledge or reputation for failure. I couldn't find one post where someone had first-hand experience with a failure.

Actually, you're right. I guess I overstated the issue; most of the posts are, as you said, general opinions about the Tokico HP. Thanks for looking into it! Too many options; still mulling it over...

^ no worries. At any rate, they seem to work great and last on the Yaris.
