Micro Image fiberglass hoods $149 shipped

$149 SHIPPED.

Need to move these guys, after all that fuss, two people actually bought them. Lesson learned -- I need the room, and I need the money. WIN for you.

unpainted fiberglass, here is how it looks finished. Requires a little tweaking with the striker to latch properly.

Whole the design looks neat, I'm not sure if I'd buy a hood like this, in spite of its price.

If the modification I'm making to my vehicle doesn't offer any functionality, I have a hard time considering it worth the time, money or effort.

Does the scoop help cooling at all? It certainly doesn't do anything for the airdam.

I have one of the hoods on mine and notice a 3 to 5 degree reduction in the intake air temp with it.

I guess you have nothing on your walls at home - no art, or anything that you appreciate for the way it looks or makes you feel? Just saying....

Blue yaris above with hood is mine....the hoods are functional as is and direct air into engine compartment or the hood can be sealed with a plate that comes with hood...

Or if you do a search you will find a few prototype pics of a functional air box and hose system ,I made that directs cool fresh air right into factory air box .... A major drop in temp is the effect as is a better throttle reply.

The hoods are a good unique design and at this price are a no brainer as only other choice is 400.00 + carbon hoods ?? It's a low price mod that really sets a yaris apart and it works !

I may buy another at this crazy low price just to mod for fun!

Btw ...garm you have any of those cowl /washer nozzle scoops that need fit work left ??

This would also mean nothing other than factory steelies unless you can justify spending the hundreds to thousands of dollars for a light weight wheel/tire combo. If anything you can pretty much also consider it functional in these to respects:

1) CTScott has noted the ambient air temps dropping by some degrees.
2) Weight reduction. My CF hood weighs in at almost half of what the stock one does.

The weight reductions as you must know produce snappier response as well as possible increases in MPG in certain arenas.

just sayin...

Functions:

1. it is lighter than the steel, and lightness is a great thing, just ask Colin Chapman.

2. It will reduce the temp in the engine compartment

3. You can easily add a functional tube to hook it up to the intake, which will lower intake temps and increase power.

4. It will look better, making girls notice your car, and you, more.

5. It will look better, making car guys notice you, plus you can tell them it pays homage to the old school Celica All Trac Turbo's.

I could go on, but that is enough.

Oh wait, it is a deal and a half, and more. So that is #6.
