Building a New Exhaust... Need some opinions.

Hey guys I'm finishing up on the Yaris exhaust this week and would appreciate some feedback on the type of muffler to use.
There are alot of ricy looking mufflers out there along with many opinions on what sounds and looks to good.
If we could get some kind of consensus on what you would like to see on a Yaris, I would appreciate it.
Thanks for your time.

Completely stainless and tig welded.
The problem is that the majority of the "cans" are about 20" long. I need to confirm it will look and sound good. They also have a huge tip. Also do not want it to look like it is hanging too low.
It will be a marketable item so your opinion counts.
Have any links to something you have seen?

cheap

Well I know a honda guy and he said the best sounding muffler on a honda is those cheap $20 turbo mufflers at autozone so it might sound good.

My other car is a 2000 Nissan Maxima and I always have thought that the duel tip looks so clean. Here is a picture:

Our Yaris is the epitome of OCD. EVERYTHING in the car is symmetrical. I would personally like to see an exhaust come out the center of the car kind of like the Mini

But hell that’s just me. And no matter what you do… I’ll most likely buy one off you either way…

Give me 20 minutes and I'll go prop my muffler under the car so you guys can see what it would look like. Dual 3.5" tips center mounted.

Center mounted would be sweet if it doesn't hang to low. Something oval or even wider tucked up nice and tight would be ideal. Dual tips, maybe? Stainless only! Price it lower than the Tanabe Medallian touring and I'll wait for it.

Bad lighting for a picture today... it looks like I shaved the Toyota badge! In any case, here you go.

Muffler is found here.

I still have about 4 inches of clearance underneath the muffler.

Riceboy is seeing if Megan would be interested in packaging the piping and mounting hardware necessary to center-mount one of their universal mufflers on a Yaris. Basically an axle-back without those funny bends.

Also, the stock exhaust diameter appears to be right around 2" on the button.

Doesn't look nearly as nice as I hoped. I think its the fact that you see the muffler body. Perhaps if it would look nicer (to me) if it was just a dual tip and the muffler was tucked up out of view.

If the exhaust is 2" already I can't imagine any significant increase beyond a less restrictive muffler.

Less restrictive muffler usually means less weight and more noise.

Keep in mind that you won't see the body of the muffler with a Kaminari rear lip.

Yo ChinoCharles Thanks for doing that for us, but that is one seriously large F-ing muffler! Your tips are the size of your license plate. I have to agree with ACRBill, it's not as nice looking as I thought it would have been, but if it was a smaller tip I still think it would rock hard core!

I was admittedly weary about this muffler. I am not an advocate of big ricey mufflers on low displacement engines, but you know... Megan Racing was kind enough to take a chance and make parts for this car having no idea whether or not the market was even there, so I wanted to buy a Megan muffler as a way to support the company's decision to bring parts to this community.

They had two dual-tip mufflers, one with 3.5" tips and one with 4" tips. I got the smallest I could. I'm excited to see it installed.
